This is a beautifully designed icon, depicting Virgin Mary with Christ. The depiction of Virgin Mary and Christ is wonderful, as well as the folds in the Virgin's clothes and scarf. Around Virgin Mary and Christ, the icon is "covered" with lapis lazuli, the well-known semi-precious stone, creating an amazing contrast with the silver and emphasizing more the fantastic form of the Virgin and Christ.
The technique of this particular picture is really excellent.
The image has right angles and the back of the image is brown, the color of wood.
